The Logic Trail
to Photoninc Nature

Stand Alone Version

There is a common-sense trail of logic that demands that our universe be a photon construct. It starts with the premise that space-time is flat. Add to that a premise that there is a cause for every effect. We then proceed to find the only possible natural cause of relativity phenomena. This is not new; we have known it since the turn of the twentieth century.

H. Ziegler said in 1909 in a discussion with Einstein, Max Planck, and others, "If one thinks about the basic particles of matter as invisible little spheres which possess an invariable speed of light, then all interactions of matter like states and electrodynamic phenomena can be described and thus we would have erected the bridge between the material and immaterial world that Mr. Planck wanted."

Ziegler realized that relativity phenomena would naturally occur if the most elemental constituents of matter moved at an invariable speed of light. Poincare, Fitzgerald, and Lorentz had already developed transformations that calculated the distortion that material things would experience given that construct. All of nature behaves just exactly as if its most irreducible constituent is the electromagnetic field.

Any reasonable person must then conclude that nature might be like it seems to be. Just maybe, all material things are made of light. There should be simple tests that can determine whether all material things are made of light. It turns out, however, that every test yet devised yields results consistent with the notion that all material things are actually made of light. The only real curiosity is that most folks reject the notion even in the face of overwhelming evidence that it is so.

But, if this is true, it means Einstein's theory of relativity is wrong. Einstein thought that space and time were variable. He attributed relativity phenomena to variations in space and time. This idea of Einstein's was accepted. It is now the established theory. Einstein found how difficult this notion was. He spent half of his life trying in vain to produce a unification theory. Unification of all the forces is not possible within the concept of variable space-time. However, it is quite easy within the concept of flat space-time. Within the flat space-time concept it is matter that must distort in order to move. Matter must distort because its most elemental constituents must always move at the invariant speed of light.

There is much evidence that matter is made of light. There is no direct evidence that it is not. Yet, most established and accepted theories are not compatible with that idea.

Space is the absence of material things. It is a nothingness in which electric and magnetic fields may exist. So far as we can discover, there is nothing else that exists in space. Immaterial things like space and time cannot be distorted. All apparent distortion of space and time are really the distortion of material things that exist in space and time. All material things must distort when they move because their most elemental constituents are electric and magnetic fields. There can be nothing else there.
