Physicists Couldn't Find
Evidence Against

In a recent thread of the sciforums physics forum a moderator, Ben The Man, started the thread linked here. The idea was to come up with the best reason why the universe can't possibly be composed of photons alone. That it was composed of photons alone was a popular idea around the turn of the 20th century; many of us think it was originated by James Clerk Maxwell. The fact that this old idea has never been falsified leaves many of us uneasy about the current wide acceptance of Quantum Theory. Especially since Quantum Theory does not predict relativity phenomena at its very foundation. In fact, Quantum Theory does not even predict the existance of mass itself.

Is the universe made of photons:
Evidence for | Evidence against

A twenty five dollar reward was offered by the moderator but as far as I can tell, no one identified any thing that could stand the test of being evidence against that old idea. I have looked into this at length and I have never found anything. Surely, if the universe is not made of photons alone, there will be plenty of evidence that it is not. After all, that is a very restrictive scenario.
